About Brandon Bell

Brandon Bell is running for re-election for Lamar County Judge. Please join us for upcoming events, and feel free to ask Judge Bell any questions you may have about the County Judge Position. It is an important position in County government and the right person with the right qualifications is needed to carry out the duties of County Judge.

Judge Bell is a seventh-generation native Texan and was born and raised in Lamar County. Judge Bell's ancestor, Edward Collins, was County Judge of Lamar County from 1858 to 1862. Judge Bell's roots are deep in the area. Judge Bell has been married to his wife, Mandy, for 25 years. They live in Paris with their two children, Carly and Collin. Judge Bell is an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Brandon is a graduate of East Texas A&M University, and he earned his Juris Doctorate from SMU Dedman School of Law. Mandy Bell is a graduate of Prairiland High School and Austin College. Judge Bell and his family attend South Side Baptist Church in Paris.

Early in his tenure, Judge Bell resisted calls to shut down Lamar County due to COVID-19 while many other counties were taking that extraordinary step. Law Enforcement has seen significant pay increases, jail improvements, and equipment updates. And election equipment has been updated to maintain the election integrity that the citizens of Lamar County deserve. Lamar County has also maintained one of the lowest tax rates in Northeast Texas.

During Judge Bell's campaign for County Judge in 2018, he pledged that, as the first Republican to hold the office, he would focus on a limited government, low taxes, and fostering economic opportunity for Lamar County. During Judge Bell's first seven years as Lamar County Judge, he has kept his promises and has been a consistent champion of private property rights, limited regulation, and government transparency.
